Illy Coffee Review - In Gratitude to an Addiction

Much has been said about coffee, its pros and cons. In the past we heard and read in various television shows and articles about not so pretty good stories about coffee. But recent study shows a lot of attack on those stories, giving more credits to coffee as somehow more beneficial than dangerous to our health. As the Harvard University School of Public Health show’s in their latest research on coffee, they confirmed the presence of one beneficial content of coffee called antioxidants. The study said that moderation of coffee like one to two cups daily reduces the risk of the drinker to get cancer and other chronic diseases. This being said, coffee had a chance to grow more in acceptance and patronage of the consumers even to those health conscious individuals.

But to whom do we owe all these coffee pleasures that we are benefiting now? Let’s back track a little. A man who started doing business in the 1930s on cocoa and coffee, which bears the name of the precious coffee we ever had so far was Mr. Francesco Illy. He began the cocoa and coffee sector in Trieste after the World War II. Some time later, he made up his mind to concentrate more on coffee. It’s where the quest for excellence in coffee industry was started. The decision prodded Mr. Illy to grow, develop and become an expert of his favorite, “espresso”. In the year 1935 he came up with a machine that took the place of compressed air for the steam. It was then called illeta, the mother of today’s espresso coffee machines.

The business of coffee was handed down from generation to generation in the Illy family. We are now in the era of Illy’s fourth generation, but the quality, taste and obsession is still very much alive. Illy’s coffee continued to be contagious and expanded throughout the globe. It expands its market to sell as much as 131 countries worldwide. This proves then, that indeed it Illy’s coffee has gained its international position in the market of coffee industry.

We could trace the excellence in coffee of Illy in their obsession. A mania that keeps on stimulating the experts of Illy’s coffee to improve, develop and innovate coffee blends and products. They are working on progress while maintaining the legacy of leadership in the coffee world. It’s domination in the business of coffee gets stronger in the passage of time. They even have a joint project in 2009 with The Coca-cola Company which led to the launching of the coffee-flavored energy drinks commonly known as, illy issimo. It’s available in three variations: Caffe, Capuccino and Latte Machiatto.

Their possession of the throne in leadership is not by accident, it is by hard work. They don’t just settle for something inferior. The Illy Company would take the risk of searching across the globe the finest coffee bean to make a perfect blend and lead to great coffee goods. Aside from such an immense effort, they also stretched their hand towards purchasing directly and exclusively from producers of coffee Arabica. Their growers of coffee Arabica is mainly in Brazil and purchases as well in Columbia, India and countries in Africa and Central America. All those meticulousness are united in just one goal – “arriving at the precision of consumer’s satisfaction for all time in the history of coffee”. And they will always be convinced that the best is yet to come. Coffee is their addiction that we as coffee lovers could be so thankful for.
